Next Stage Civil was engaged by a private client in Robertson to reconstruct a failing driveway and build a dedicated caravan parking bay. The existing access area was soft, poorly drained, and becoming unusable, a common problem on Southern Highlands properties where clay soils and wet conditions punish anything that hasn't been built correctly from the ground up.
This was a small job by value, but it wasn't treated that way. The site was stripped back, properly shaped, and rebuilt with the right materials and compaction, turning an awkward access problem into a clean, functional part of the property.

The unsuitable material and soft top layer were removed completely to get down to a workable base. No patching over the problem, the site was cleared properly before any new material went in.
The area was reformed to create the right levels and fall so water had somewhere to go. The driveway and caravan pad were set up to shed water rather than collect it, the part that most small driveway jobs skip.
Quality gravel and road base were trucked in, placed in layers, and compacted with a smooth drum roller. This is what separates a surface that holds up from one that looks good for a few weeks and then starts shifting.
Works were finished carefully around the hedge line, retaining edge, lawn, and existing driveway alignment. The result looks considered because it was.
